Remote Learning

Remote education provision

This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to pupils and parents or carers about what to expect from remote education where national or local restrictions require entire cohorts (or bubbles) to remain at home.  We are equipped and prepared to provide remote learning for any child who requires it during a period of isolation.

Our remote learning policy below details the way our school will provide remote learning for any child who needs it at any time of the school year.  We will use a combination of online live Zoom lessons, online resources for pupils to use at home and packs of resources including books.

Below is a list of some of the online resources we will use to deliver our remote curriculum:

The Oak National Academy lessons follow the National Curriculum and are a great resource to supplement the activities that are being set by the class teacher.

TT Rock Stars is a fun way for children to practice their times tables.

Nrich is a fantastic website that gives lots of ideas for ways to enrich and challenge maths learning.

Phonics Hero is a fun app that lets children learn and play lots of games related to their phonics. They are offering a FREE 7 DAY TRIAL.

BBC Bitesize is a fantastic website to help support your child with their remote learning.

Dorset School Games have organised some great resources to help you and your child to keep active during remote learning.

Joe Wicks has a number of PE lessons on his YouTube channel.

Even if you can’t leave the house why not take a virtual tour of some of the most interesting museums and landmarks from all around the world. All of this from the comfort of your own home!
