Inspirational Assembly on Possiblities and Inclusion

We had a wonderful visit from Bart Gee who really showed us how to turn challenge and difficulty into possibility.  He showed us how from the age of four, when he was told he would never walk, how he did the shuffle to move across the room.  He shared his story of how he taught himself to walk and to write using two hands rather than one.  HIs disability is one where he has no muscle strength so every task is difficult.  Bart showed an amazing video of his completed Triathlon which really championed his work towards inclusion and understanding from others.  The children were totally inspired and engaged in Bart’s achievements.  He rounded the assembly off with a fantastic song on the piano – he really taught us all how to persevere, respect others, understand difference and equality.  Wow!
