Our Church School
We warmly welcome you to our school! We work together to live our life to its fullness according to John 10:10 and believe that in Jesus’s light we can truly live out our special Christian values. We are a caring, family school whose vision goes far to include all children no matter who they are. Have a look below at what we have been working on this year!
Spiritual thinking at Easter time.
As part of our Easter work on 5th and 6th April, the children were encouraged to think deeply about some questions at each activity they visited. Take a look at the questions and responses…. After our ‘stick journey’ activity, we asked, ‘What was Jesus’s journey?’ We...
Our Easter Journey part 2 6th April 2022
In assembly, we listened to Mrs Cleden read the Easter story before completing 3 more activities to help us focus on different aspects of the meaning of Easter. We planted seeds and thought about Jesus giving life to us… We designed flags that included olive branches...
An Easter Journey 6th April 2022
This year we celebrated Easter as a whole school slightly differently. We looked at aspects of Jesus as we delved into aspects of his life , death and resurrection. We began by taking a journey through the village to the church. There, we created our own journey...
Solidarity with Ukraine
Today the whole school dressed up in blue and yellow - the colours of the Ukrainian flag - to show our support for the whole Ukrainian community and demonstrate some of our school values, notably compassion and generosity. We spent time thinking about the positive...
We managed our traditional pancake races despite the looming rain! Reception were given a helping hand from Years 5 and 6 and lots of fun was had. We even managed to eat a pancake or two!
Ash Wednesday 2nd March 2022
In our collective worship today, we learnt about Ash Wednesday marking the beginning of Lent. The ashes symbolize both death and repentance. During this period, Christians show repentance and mourning for their sins, because they believe Christ died for them. Rev...
Valentines Day 2022
Happy Valentines Day! Today, we were discussing what love really is. Is it a card and a box of chocolates or is it caring for someone (ironing, helping with reading, sorting stuff for forest school and so on...). Is it both? What would we do without it? [gallery...
We are “Learning together to be the best that we can be!” We live out our values each day knowing that in John 10:10 it says: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly or life in all its fullness.
We aim to live out our values through dignity and kindness and hope that this permeates through every aspect of school life in Powerstock. We are a family community where everyone knows each other well and strives to help each other be their best self. We look outside of our very small school and think about others in our work and play through our work for Water Aid and our lovely local food bank – Cupboard Love. We are passionate about our planet and our School Council is working hard to help the school get the message to our community – all this work starts with our wonderful pupils – their voices should be heard!
