To round off our art printing unit, the school welcomed Paul Cleden, a local artist. He was able to share his printmaking work with us and explain the process from initial ideas to the finished artwork.
Here are some of his prints…
We saw the sketch books full of ideas and drawings. We could see how he tries out different colour combinations decides the best way to draw some images.
Paul showed us the tools he uses when he creates linocuts and showed us how to print different colours on top of each other. It can take 2 months to produce a print.
We were lucky enough to share our own work with Paul – he was very impressed with our rubbings and prints too. Maybe Paul has inspired some of us to become artists one day.
Thank you for coming, Paul!
