Nestled amongst the rolling Dorset hills, just three miles outside Bridport, Powerstock Primary School is a little gem at the heart of a thriving rural community. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and stunning views, our school offers a calm, peaceful and inspiring environment where children can learn, grow and flourish.

Although we are small in size, we are mighty in spirit. At Powerstock, we pride ourselves on our nurturing, family atmosphere, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves. At the centre of our school grounds stands our magnificent conker tree, watching over generations of children. Planted many years ago by a former pupil, it has grown strong and proud, becoming a much-loved symbol of our school. Just like our conker tree, we encourage our children to put down strong roots, grow in confidence and flourish as they discover their unique strengths and talents.

We are incredibly fortunate to have access to wonderful natural woodland, which provides the perfect setting for our Forest School afternoons. These valuable outdoor experiences allow children to explore, learn and develop resilience, curiosity and a deep appreciation for the natural world around them.

Our curriculum is rooted in three key principles: Confidence, Coherence and Achievement. Through rich and engaging learning experiences, we empower children to believe in themselves, make meaningful connections in their learning and achieve their very best. We encourage every child to embrace opportunities, live life to the full and develop the self-esteem and character they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
