Extra Curricular Activities

Clubs

We ensure that there at opportunities for all our children to take part in either lunchtime or after-school club.  We vary the clubs each term to ensure everyone has an opportunity to try the more popular clubs and that there are clubs to suit all tastes.  We also try to provide opportunities for children to try some new and different sports and activities such as Archery and Street Surfing. There is always a mixture of free and paid clubs.  All of the free ‘school clubs’ are run voluntarily by members of staff giving up their free time.  The paid clubs are run by professional coaches and experts.

Musical Instrument Lessons

Music is an important part of life at our school.  We have successfully taken part in Dorset Music Service’s ‘Music for all’ programme in which all pupils in Years 3 and 4 receive a 10-week course on either the flute or the recorder.  We have also recently seen a large number of our children taking part in guitar lessons with a visiting guitar teacher.

The choir is taught by Mrs Cleden weekly and have opportunities to perform throughout the year at Church services and other local community events.  Most recently, the choir performed at the Christmas Tree Festival in Bridport and the Christmas festival in Beaminster.
