Applications

Parents (with or without their children) are welcome to come and look around the school and to meet the Head Teacher, pupils and staff. Visits can be made by telephoning the school office on 01308 485380 or by email office@powerstock.dorset.sch.uk.

Children who live within the catchment area of Powerstock, Wytherston, Poorton, Loscombe, West Milton and Nettlecombe are entitled to attend the school (within the year group size limits set by Dorset Local Authority and the school governors).  The school regularly takes pupils out of the schools catchment from Bridport and the surrounding area.

Starting in our Primary School

Normally our new reception children attend the morning sessions only during the first few weeks of September as they settle into their new classroom before starting full time at school. However we are happy for children to attend full time as soon as they start, but we always seek to discuss and agree together what will suit the child best.

When a child first starts at the school, parents will be asked to complete admissions and medical forms together with basic permissions for Use of Images, Walks around the Village and an Acceptable Use Agreement for IT. Parents and children will also be expected to sign a Home/School Agreement. It is important that this Agreement is talked over carefully with your child.
