In this unit, Cogden pupils explored French language and culture through the theme of towns and cities. Pupils learned to name major French cities, describe places in a town, count to 100, and give their address in French. Along the way, they developed their use of bilingual dictionaries and built confidence in speaking and listening through songs, games, and role-play.

The writing focus was handwriting, with pupils practising accurate letter formation, spacing, and presentation while recording vocabulary, phrases, and simple sentences in French. Their final work showcases not only their growing language skills but also pride in clear, fluent handwriting across their learning.
