In our collective worship today, we learnt about Ash Wednesday marking the beginning of Lent. The ashes symbolize both death and repentance. During this period, Christians show repentance and mourning for their sins, because they believe Christ died for them. Rev Chris was marked with the sign of the cross in ash by Mrs Cleden before he did the same to us!
