This afternoon, we had a visit from the guide dog charity. We were introduced to 7 dogs and their trainers, as well as Geoff, who is visually impaired and who brought along his own guide dog, Pringle. We heard how important a guide dog is for someone who is unable to see clearly and how it can bring a person who has lost their sight to a place of hope and opportunities. We also learnt about the importance of dog trainers and what they have to do to prepare them for being a reliable, working guide dog.
The dogs then visited our class so that we could learn more about them and, of course, get to know these beautiful creatures. They were extremely well-behaved, as you would expect, although there were funny, playful moments.
